I want to know because we are reading the book in school. Plus my friend told me that Old Dan and Little Ann die. I have read the book I just want to see what you say.

The ending is realistic, it's sad, and at the same time, very magical.
A classic book in every way.

Reply:Yes they both die. Old Dan dies from a gash across his stomach, and other injuries. Little Ann loses her will to live and dies next to Old Dan's grave. Wow that's really depressing... :-\
