What structure in the fern life cycle is analogous to the embryo in a seed?

how are the two structures similar? how are they different?

What structure in the fern life cycle is analogous to the embryo in a seed?
Analogous means functionally similar .

the germinating oospore ( Zygote) is analogous to seed embryo.

Both represent diploid sporophytic generation .

Both on development produce a sporophytic diploid plant .

In seed it is cotyledon or endosperm that store food for the developing / germinating embryo.

Where as in fern the germinating oospore depends upon the prothallus ( Haploid, gametophyte ) for the nourishment till t becomes independent .
