Natural fertiliser for a fern?
virtually any high nitrogen source will do well. animal skat like cow or chicken droppings is excellent fertilizer. urine does have a fair amount of nitrogen, but it is also acidic, so it might not be the best choice. dont use table sugar, cause most plants cant utilize that, but they can use glucose. Sugar isnt really a fertilizer though, its an energy source which the plant can make for itself with sunlight and some raw materials.

also, compost makes excellent fertilizer, like fruit rinds and leaves. just let it sit in a pile outside for a month or so, and dig up the bottom. hope all goes well, goodluck
Reply:I have a beautiful boston fern and I use used coffee grounds on it.Work them in the soil and keep moist.
