Does misting a fern cause deseases towards the fern?

I have a fern and, I need to know this.

Does misting a fern cause deseases towards the fern?
Misting the fern in and of itself will not cause disease. However, depending on where it is placed (e.g., the amount of sun it is exposed to) can increase the likelihood of the fern developing a fungus or "inviting" one of the common bug infestations. Since ferns are naturally found in cool, moist environments they need to maintain a certain amount of ambient moisture so you should consider placing your fern (if it is inside) in a pan of water and only mist it occasionally (a couple of times a week). Also, since most tap water is treated with a chlorine related substance it is unlikely you will have any fungi or bacteria in your water which will also help to decrease the liklihood of your fern developing an infection of some kind. I hope this helps.
Reply:There may not be enough minerals in the potting soil so you might need to fertilize. Also, ferns typically need acidic soil so your pH might also be out of wack.Test your soil. If you press your finger down on the soil and it comes back wet or damp it is fine. If it is dry then it is time to water it. Report It

Reply:Misting a fern with water should not cause disease as long as there is some airflow around the plant too; airflow is not usually a problem unless your fern is in a glass bottle garden or glass case. In fact, ferns really enjoy moist, humid conditions and misting will benefit them enormously.
