Too much water or not enough water. Not enough fertilizer or bad soil. Could have it too close to a heat source or in direct sun light. Most like lots of indirect light. So too much water the leaves just turn yellow and fall off. Too little water, the leaves turn yellow then brown. Put it closer to a window and keep them away from heat ducts. Try misting your fern daily with just a bit of fertilizer in it. They really like sorta cool, kinda moist, rich soil. You see them in the wild shaded by trees, along streams, in grottoes. Give them that environment or make them think they're in it and they will do well.
Reply:Not enough moisture. Ferns must have lots of water, in the soil, on the plant, and in the air. Keep the soil moist, don't drown plant, and mist daily. A good idea is a couple times a week, place fern in shower under cool, slow running water. Let stay couple minutes. Make sure pot drains well. Don't place in a hot window either. They love filtered light. Another idea, put outside when it rains. Hope this helps your fern.
